Senate Cuts Food Assistance to Pay for State Aid Package

On August 4th, 2010 the Senate approved a $26.1 billion packaged designed to promote job creation and provide additional Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) funding to help states avoid additional Medicaid cuts.  To offset the cost of the bill, 11.9 billion dollars in food assistance funding was cut.
