In the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Blog, Richard Kovacs argues that medical providers, specifically cardiologists and other specialists should be responsible for establishing the quality of care metrics.  As insurers increasingly rely on “quality of care” measurements to steer patients to certain providers, Kovacs suggests providers should design systems - such as the Cardiovascular Practice Recognition Program (CVRP) - to ensure patients are well informed.
