Annual Report

The period of time covered by this Annual Report of the National Coalition on Health Care roughly coincides with one of the most tumultuous and dramatic periods of recent American history. The year began as national political campaigns were being played out against a back drop of two wars, a devastated economy and plummeting confidence about the future. As the election season was heating up, the Coalition issued statements urging candidates of both political parties to support system-wide systemic health care reform. By conveying a clear message of the Nation’s urgent need for reform to both the Republican and Democratic National Committees, NCHC began this, the most eventful year of its history.
