In a letter to Majority Leader Harry Reid, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has estimated that the health reform package does not substantially differ from the prior analysis completed in December 2009. They project that the bill as passed by the Senate would yield a $118 billion net reduction in federal deficits over the next decade, compared to a net reduction of $132 billion projected by their previous estimate.
