In 2009, over 6.5 million Californians were uninsured, including over 10% of the state’s children.

California has the largest population in the United States, estimated to be 36,961,664 in 2009.[i] In the same year, over 6.5 million residents were uninsured,[ii] including about 11% of California’s children.[iii]
