State advocates, national organizations and funders will play a pivotal role in the effective and consumer-focused implementation of the health care reform law. Community Catalyst has announced its creation of the Affordable Care Act Implementation Fund. The fund provides 16-eligible states with grants to support work toward specific policy outcomes for state implementation. States will be awarded the first round of grants in March and April of 2011. Community Catalysts stresses that states utilize the tools of public education, policy and legal advocacy, communications, coalition-building, and grassroots organizing and mobilization to support successful implementation of the ACA. The fund was created after a recent report, “Where the Rubber Meets the Road: Strategies for Successful Implementation of the Affordable Care Act.”
