Congressional Actions and Reports
The Congressional Research Service (CRS) has produced summaries of the discretionary funding, appropriations and fund transfers in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). The ACA authorizes new funding for many existing discretionary grant programs and other activities. The health law also creates new discretionary programs and activities and gives each an authorization of appropriations. The second document summarizes the mandated appropriations and Medicare trust fund transfers in the ACA. The Congressional Research service works for the United States Congress, giving policy and legal analysis to committees and Members of both chambers.
