The National Alliance for Tobacco Cessation (NATC) has produced a fact sheet on the benefits, barriers, and evidence-based interventions for smoking cessation. The cost of cessation programs has created a barrier for lower income people to receive effective treatments. The NATC found that full insurance coverage of smoking cessation services has been found to significantly increase quit rates, quit attempts, and use of nicotine replacement therapy.
