NCHC is a proud supporter of S. 464, the Independence at Home (IAH) Act, bipartisan legislation recently introduced by Senators Markey (D-MA), Portman (R-OH), Bennet (D-CO), and Cornyn (R-TX).  Our organizational allies recently published a website to assist supporters of the legislation in mobilizing their grassroots to ask Senators to co-sponsor the bill.  S. 464 expands to the entire nation the innovative and highly successful Independence at Home (IAH) demonstration project that has been providing home-based primary medical care to nearly 10,000 Medicare elders with severe chronic illness and disability over the last several years.  To use the activation site, click on any CONTACT YOUR SENATORS bar to easily send a message to Senators about the importance of co-sponsoring S. 464. Suggested language is included in the activation portion of the website, but we know that the most effective messages to Capitol Hill are those that you customize with details about your program and how the legislation would help the seniors and families you serve.
