Letter from the President:

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Thank you for your dedication to the National Coalition on Health Care. Like many of us, the Coalition has had a challenging yet productive year. We have adapted quickly to a new virtual world and continue to advance around bipartisan, pragmatic policy solutions to create a more affordable health care system for all.

Guided by our Board of Directors and members, we advocated for timely legislative and regulatory interventions to lower drug prices, address “surprise” out-of-network bills, accelerate value-based care, and, most importantly, address the public health and economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. We amplified educational campaigns of our members through hill briefings, policy meetings, speaking engagements, and social media.

Building on this success, we set out in 2021 to do challenging work. The current state of our health system imposes steep costs on the country and the Coalition is determined to address the challenge of reducing the total cost of care. We must pursue innovative value-based payment models and address upstream determinants of health. The Coalition pledges its support to fair and effective measures to enhance affordability and equity, recognizing that change is necessary.

We look forward to our continued partnership in 2021 and beyond.

Sincerely,

John Rother, President, NCHC
