WHAT: | National Coalition on Health Care’s “Cost of Inaction” National Press Briefing
WHY: | Business leaders representing Coalition members will address the impact of the health care crisis on business, challenge our nation’s leaders to embark on a search for workable solutions, and release the “Cost of Inaction” report:America’s health care system is in crisis. The problems posed to businesses, employees and families by this crisis are of unprecedented magnitude.More corporate and individual dollars are being spent on health care than ever before, and these continued increases are not sustainable by business.Neither market competition nor any of the piecemeal health care reforms instituted or proposed to date can solve the problems.Comprehensive reform of our health care system is needed. The cost of inaction, over time, far outweighs the cost of reform.Businesses and other groups are joining the National Coalition on Health Care – the nation’s largest health care alliance — to work on solving these problems.
