Two Health Care Laws Passed in New Hampshire

Two bills meant to exert state control over federal health care reforms became law, despite lacking the signature of Governor John Lynch. House Bill 601 provides Insurance Commissioner Roger Sevigny power to continue implementing provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Senate Bill 148 states that no New Hampshire resident can be required to buy health insurance coverage, unless so ordered by the court.
